Please note in advance. This leather is made from vegetable-tanned cowhide leather, dyed and processed at a factory in Sumida Ward, Tokyo's downtown area. Skilled artisans hand-paint the leather with dye and then meticulously apply wax by hand. Finally, the leather is baked and pressed with a high-pressure iron to create a beautiful luster, and the hand-applied wax creates a contrast of light and dark tones, resulting in a rich, deep color. This process, called pooling, whitens the folded areas, allowing for a unique aging process that reveals each individual user's unique personality. Also, due to the characteristics of tanned leather, it is initially stiff overall, but as you use it, it will become softer and more comfortable in your hand. It can be kept in good condition by simply wiping it dry, without using much leather care cream.
