Product Introduction
Fine Molds 1/72 Jet Aircraft Series Israeli F-4E Fighter Kurnass Plastic Model FX02
Following the establishment of Israel after World War II, the Middle East remained unstable. Following the 1967 Six-Day War, Israel was no longer able to receive arms support from France. The United States instead offered assistance, sending 122 F-4Es.
The Yom Kippur War broke out in 1973. Although the Israeli military was overwhelmed by the Arab coalition forces in the early stages of the conflict, the F-4Es, named Kurnass (Hebrew for "hammer"), engaged in ground attacks and contributed to the ground forces' counterattack.
During this war, the F-4Es are said to have shot down as many as 85 aircraft.
