Despite its simple, clear-cut rules—eat all the yellow dots—this stage-clearing action game, a global hit, was a smash hit from Namco. Originally created as an arcade title, it led to long-running high-score competitions. This is the sixth title in the "Famicom Mini" series, which reimagined the original Famicom software from the early days of the Family Computer for the Game Boy Advance.

Featuring simple controls using only the D-pad, players clear a stage by eating all the dots packed into the screen, advancing to the next stage. Touching enemies known as Ijike Monsters results in death, and being defeated three times usually results in game over. However, by consuming the power foods placed throughout the stage, players can eat them as well. Similar to collecting bonus fruit, this can earn bonus scores.

Each of the four Ijike Monsters has a unique personality and behavior, adding to the game's complex elements, making it a highly sought-after title. Incidentally, when it was made into a TV anime in the United States, it achieved a record high audience rating of 56%. (Masa Tamura)
