Beautiful scenery that can only be seen because of the horse chestnut trees. The cup, which has an attractive depth of color, is a proud masterpiece created through a collaboration between Ooka Lacquerware, a long-established Yamanaka lacquerware company, and Kyoto Sajikame. It is painted in gold to resemble the horizon, and is named ``Hyakkei'' to express the feeling of enjoying the scenery created by nature, including the sky, atmosphere, water, and greenery. The cup is carved out of a horse chestnut tree using Yamanaka-nuri's turning technique, and is attractive for its thinness and smooth texture. It is also attractive that the color changes depending on the season, perhaps because the oil content in the material changes. It is truly a unique cup in a world where the scenery changes one by one. There are 6 colors in total. It's a bright color that can also be used as a gift. The bottom is engraved with the Kyoto spoon turtle. It can be used for various celebrations such as birthdays, Father's Day, Mother's Day, Respect for the Aged Day, 60th birthday, wedding gifts, etc. The cool cup has a beautiful silhouette and features a large diameter and a smooth mouthfeel. Wooden containers have excellent cold and moisture retention properties, so even if you fill them with plenty of ice, they won't melt, making them delicious not only for alcohol but also for tea and juice. Yamanaka lacquerware is excellent in its potter's wheel grinding process, in which white wood is rotated and hollowed out using a special knife called a planer, and is mainly used for making round bowls, plates, tea sets, etc.
We specialize in manufacturing things. In particular, 80% to 90% of the wood used for tea utensils such as jujube is ground in the mountains. Sujihiri, which characterizes Yamanaka's turning products, is a method of creating a kind of design by making marks on the wood with a plane, and there are about 5 patterns such as itomesuji, potter's wheel suji, birisuji, flat groove suji, rice ear suji, and handle suji. There are ten types. Yamanaka lacquerware, which is blessed with an abundance of raw wood materials, uses materials such as zelkova, cherry blossoms, and horse chestnuts for vessels of various sizes, and proceeds through the stages of base, lacquer, and maki-e depending on the purpose, resulting in beautiful colored and glossy lacquerware. Masu. Naturally, most of the production process is handmade, so it takes a long time from drying the raw wood to completion, taking over a year.
