Specifications:
BlackChili:
- New relationship between grip and rolling resistance: This unique tread rubber compound, which is produced only in our German plant, has revolutionized the bicycle tire industry.. BlackChili compound improves rolling resistance by 26% and provides 30% more grip than activated silica compounds. Premium BlackChili compound tyres also impress with higher mileage and, unlike many multi-compound tyres, provide a consistent ride from the first to the last kilometre.
Vectran:
- The standard in puncture protection: Vectran is a synthetically produced high-tech fiber made from a natural model. Like spider webs, Vectran is a liquid crystal polymer. (LCP). Vectran is drawn from molten liquid Vectra polymer and further processed into multi-strand fibre. Spider web, like Vectran, has enormous tensile strength at very low weight.: exactly the properties needed for processing into a premium Continental bicycle tyre as a puncture protection insert. The Vectran breaker is lighter, more flexible and provides better cut protection than a comparable nylon breaker.. The Vectran breaker does not have a negative effect on rolling resistance
- TPS: innovative front and rear tyre system for road racing The TirePositioning System uses the last bit of what is currently technically possible. Motorcyclists have known for a long time: The front tire has different requirements than its rear counterpart. Narrower front tire provides reduced air resistance and better handling. Grip-optimised tread compound provides the necessary grip, especially when cornering on wet roads. The wide rear tyre provides better grip thanks to a larger contact area and at the same time more comfort. Fast rolling, optimized tread compound and larger contact area on the rear tyre reduce wear. The result is an innovative front and rear tyre system for road racing.; it can be found in our GP Attack and Force combination. – New since 2013: The first tubular tires with TPS system!
