I bought the holder hoping to mount a small solar panel on it for an LED flashlight.. A panel weighing no more than 300 grams does not stay in the holder at an angle. I tightened the wing nuts with great force so that the panel was directed to the point I needed in azimuth, but the hinges still slipped and the solar panel went down.. Since the wing nuts on the tightening bolts are plastic, you won't be able to tighten them to the maximum. The plastic will fall apart.. So if you're thinking of attaching a surveillance camera or something else to this holder, you won't be able to. I think the maximum you can attach is a device weighing no more than 100 grams.
